This is a community meetup for intersex people, not a professional forum for those working in the field of intersex

*Coffee Clap is the literal translation of Kaffeeklatsch, a german word for a hangout with coffee and gossip.
What is intersex?
Intersex is an umbrella term for people born with variations of sex characteristics that do not fit the typical definition of male or female. Intersex people have physical sex characteristics (such as genitals, gonads, hormones and chromosomes) that do not fit the typical definitions of male or female.
The binary sex system does not fit the innate sex characteristics of intersex people.
For some intersex people, variations in sex characteristics are noticeable at birth or in childhood. For others, these variations may not be apparent until puberty or later in life. Some intersex people may not even know they are intersex until adulthood.
